Wired reporter Dell Cameron was permanently suspended after reporting on the hack of right-wing provocateur and Daily Wire host Matt Walsh’s Twitter account.
In his piece, Cameron reported on his conversation with Walsh’s hacker, who goes by Doomed, who said he hacked Walsh’s account out of boredom and to stir up chaos on Twitter. Following his hack of the Twitter account, Doomed posted several derogatory callouts of conservatives Walsh has praised in the past.
“The intent was to make funny tweets, as Matt Walsh likes to ‘trigger’ people,” said Doomed, “We caused no financial harm, threatened anyone, [nor] ruined anything.” It was merely, he says, “a few silly words on social media.”
Doomed says that with the help of an “insider,” he SIM-swapped Walsh’s phone and, in the process, apparently gained access to Walsh’s Google and Microsoft accounts and emails. Doomed provided several screenshots as proof of the intrusion, including an apparent copy of Wals…
