Tenable CEO Fires Broadside Against Microsoft for 'Grossly Irresponsible' Security Approach

Veteran cybersecurity executive and Tenable CEO Amit Yoran issued in a LinkedIn post a public critique of Microsoft, accusing the software giant of dragging its feet on fixing a critical vulnerability affecting its Azure platform and saying the tech giant’s slow response illustrates the company’s “grossly irresponsible, if not blatantly negligent” approach to security.
Yoran’s critique follows criticism from lawmakers and researchers after a recent cyberattack affecting U.S. government officials resulted from a Microsoft security lapse.
Yoran said he works with hundreds of companies annually to disclose and patch vulnerabilities. Microsoft, he said, consistently fails to proactively and professionally address vulnerabilities in their products.
