Day Five of the SolarWinds crisis was one stunning revelation after another, with no signs that the vortex of news will slow down anytime soon. The biggest revelation of the day came from Natasha Bertrand at Politico, who reported that the Energy Department and National Nuclear Security Administration, which maintains the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile, were accessed as part of the SolarWinds hack. DOE and NNSA officials also found suspicious activity in networks belonging to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Sandia and Los Alamos national laboratories in New Mexico and Washington, the Office of Secure Transportation at NNSA, and the Richland Field Office of the DOE. Officials have evidence of highly malicious activity at FERC.
