The websites of the Italian Senate, defense ministry, and other public institutions came under a cyber attack from the pro-Russian state-linked hacking group Killnet. As a result, the websites of the Senate, Italy's upper house of parliament, and the Italian National Institute of Health, the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS), were seemingly knocked offline for about an hour.
Killnet claimed responsibility for the attacks via Telegram. Senate Speaker Elisabetta Casellati said no permanent damage had been caused by the attack on the Upper House's "external network.” (ANSA) and Angelo Amante / Reuters)
