The federal government issued two critical election interference reports, one from the Director of National Intelligence and one from DHS, the FBI, and the Justice Department, both of which examine the degree to which foreign adversaries interfered with the 2020 presidential campaigns.
Vindicating former Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) chief Chris Krebs, the DHS report noted that domestic intelligence operations found no support at all for the former oval office occupant’s claims that the election was rigged or stolen from him. The ODNI report found that while more foreign adversaries than ever before tried to interfere in the election through voter intimidation and disinformation campaigns, none seemed to have used hackers to attempt to disrupt the election or access election infrastructure as they did in 2016.
