Costa Rican Government Declares State of Emergency Following Conti Ransomware Attacks

In one of his first official acts, Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves declared a national emergency following ransomware attacks by the Conti ransomware group on multiple government bodies in April.

Among other things, Conti demanded a $10 million ransom from the Ministry, which the government declined to pay. Conti published most of the 672 GB dump that appears to contain data belonging to the Costa Rican government agencies. (Ax Sharma / Bleeping Computer)
