The pushback against Apple’s controversial efforts to scan users’ images for evidence of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) now encompasses the company’s employees, who are starting to speak out internally against the move.
According to unidentified employees, Apple employees are posting their complaints about the new initiative on the company’s internal Slack channel with more than 800 messages on the plan announced a week ago. (Joseph Menn and Julia Love / Reuters)

Cybersecurity firm Trend Micro warned that hackers tried to exploit two zero-day vulnerabilities in its Apex One EDR platform to go after its customers in attacks earlier this year.
Although Trend Micro did not release details of the attacks, they did say patches for the flaws were made available at the end of July. (Catalin Cimpanu / The Record)
